WHY I DO WHAT I DO

A natural story teller and a problem solver

I'd tell stories that I learned with passion and enthusiasm.

Telling stories was one of my specialties back then in Elementary School. I participated in the annual Story Telling Contest every year. In Fourth grade, I first won the Second prize. I didn’t get a place the first and second times, but I didn’t give it up and told myself to improve each year.

Throughout the years, I found the power of knowledge and storytelling skills while working part-time as a private tutor. I remember how joy was sparked when I could fully convey a piece of boring knowledge, said my student, to her. It was one of the best moments during my five years of teaching.

Later on, I worked with large datasets during my first full-time job. The joy when I could deliver full stories data-fueled ignited my curiosity and passion for data analysis.

Grateful for my immigrant status to the United States, where opportunities are open and welcome to learn and grow. I’ve been striving to learn Python, R, MATLAB, and MySQL. I love finding hidden gems in a particular dataset, connecting the dots cross-datasets, and displaying findings in dashboards. Even though results are not always as expected, I believe it means there is room for improvement.

My specialties include quickly learning new skills and programming languages, problem-solving, and optimization. Self-motivated and self-discipline are crucial in supporting my self-study path to catch up with market demand and overcome imposter syndrome.
